Visible Light Communications Testbed at Boston University
Testbed Goals
- Evaluate sources and sensors in an integrated adaptive lighting and display environment.
- Explore smart lighting impacts on the detection and mitigation of biochemical hazards.
- Evaluate capabilities of integrated illumination/communication systems.
The ERC has established three (3) major Testbeds to demonstrate the capabilities and implementation of integrated engineered systems for smart lighting applications. The Testbeds are used to design and evaluate the integration of sources, sensors, communications systems and controls for revolutionary new applications that are synergistic with the center level goals of energy sustainability, health and productivity.
